Mission & Values

COPE Kids is a non-profit organization that provides evidence-based psychological, behavioural, and mental health services at no cost to children and families who demonstrate financial need and are experiencing significant emotional distress. This includes access to comprehensive assessment, treatment, and consultation services as funding and resources permit. While outpatient programs are available to the general public, the mandate of COPE Kids is to triage according to risk level and severity of impairment in order to create timelier and more equitable access to those identified as most vulnerable.

The mandate of COPE Kids is to relieve poverty and reduce gaps in the health care system by providing marginalized groups with greater access to highly trained regulated mental health professionals. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals from low socioeconomic backgrounds who experience systemic oppression based on their age, race, ethnicity, religion, immigration status, sex, gender, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, and/or age. This in turn will help relieve conditions associated with disability and systemic oppression, which will subsequently improve more independent and healthy living in the community.
